FAQ

Most frequent questions
and answers.

The seven things we hear most often from people whose superannuation or insurance claim has stalled. If yours isn’t here, call — there is no charge for the conversation.

  1. 01Do I need to pay anything upfront?
No. We offer free initial consultation. You don’t need to pay us anything until your matter settles.
  2. 02Am I entitled to claim?
If you are unable to work due to a total and permanent disability, a serious illness, or an injury covered by your policy, you may be entitled to make a claim through your superannuation fund or insurer. We will review your policy and your circumstances and tell you honestly where you stand.
  3. 03What can I claim?
Depending on the policy you hold, you may be entitled to claim a Total and Permanent Disablement (TPD) benefit, Income Protection benefits, a Trauma or Critical Illness payment, and in some cases a Life Insurance or death benefit. We will read your policy with you and explain the benefit you are entitled to.
  4. 04How much can I claim?
Unfortunately we cannot give you an estimation until your matter is thoroughly assessed. Every case is unique and the amount depends on your policy wording, the medical evidence, and the impact on your ability to work.
  5. 05My insurer has denied my claim — what can I do?
If your TPD, income protection, trauma or life insurance claim has been denied, suspended or terminated, you still have options. We can review the insurer’s decision, gather further medical and occupational evidence, lodge a dispute, and where necessary bring the matter before the relevant tribunal on your behalf.
  6. 06How long will it take for the matter to settle?
Each case is different. The timeline depends on the type of claim, the complexity of the medical evidence, and how the insurer responds. Some claims resolve in a few months; others, particularly where the insurer has denied the claim, can take longer.
  7. 07Do I need to go to court?
Most matters resolve without going to court. Your lawyer will advise you whether your matter should proceed to a hearing and explain the associated costs and risks before any step is taken.
